Lymphedema

An abnormal accumulation of protein rich fluid in the interstitium which cause chronic inflammation, reactive tissue fibrosis and proliferated amounts of adipose tissue. Lymphedema is a gradually progressive disease that occurs overtime that can continue to worsen if not treated.

Lymphedema varies depending on the stage of the disease process. Signs and symptoms includes: tissue fibrosis, abnormal adipose tissue deposition, pain and increase risk of complication such as cellulitis, Lymphangitis and Lymphagioma.

Complete Decongestive Therapy

An approach providing 2 Intensive phases to adhere maximum results. Intensive phase includes scientific based study of daily treatment for several weeks. This to assure optimal decongestion of the tissue and yields best result over shorter period of time. After obtaining successful result, patient and caregiver education is highly prescribed to adhere continuous self-care to must learn necessary skills to maintain and manage condition adequately and effectively.
